Stowe

August 30, 2010

When I fifteen going on sixteen and living in Florida, my parents announced that we were moving up to Montreal, Quebec for one year. I was devastated. I was about to get my driver’s license and was so excited to drive my friends all over the place. Instead we were going to move to a condo in a high-rise building in the english speaking area of Montreal called Westmount where I was going to be riding on the metro and taking a city bus to my new school. Just when I was getting comfortable in high school…

It ended up being a great experience in a beautiful city. From time to time we would go south of the border into Plattsburg, NY and Burlington, VT to get our American fixes. My all time favorite place we would go skiing was Stowe, VT. What a beautiful little town. So, I was very excited to learn that HGTV’s 2011 Dream Home is in Stowe. I decided I have to claim this special home as my prize so that I can take my family skiing and show them the fruity pebbles (that is what I called the colorful leaves when I was little)  in the fall that cover the mountains so beautifully.

I have thought for several years that we should make a trip to the northeast to see the leaves change into “fruity pebbles” again. The whole mountainside becomes brilliantly breathtaking.

Fall in the northeast was especially impressive to you since you’d been living so long in Orlando where the trees were green year around and you were unfamiliar with how beautiful the fall season could be.

Win that house and I’ll be the first in line to spend a fall season with you!

By the way, is the drawing you posted of the HGTV Dream Home?
