Familiar Dallas Home
November 14, 2011
Back in March of 2010 I posted about this Dallas home that was on the market at the time…
When I was looking through the new Traditional Home, I thought this home looked familiar…
This family room has me in the mood to start decorating for Christmas. Do you decorate for Christmas? If so, when do you usually get started?

That house looks stunning decorated for the holidays! Maybe they took advantage of it being on the market — perhaps not inhabited, but staged? It does get me in the mood to decorate now…Christmas is sooo different in Germany – with no Halloween or Thanksgiving, as soon as the weather turns colder in October all of the Christmas stuff comes out and the holidays begin leading up to it! That’s a bit too ealy for me to think about decorating for Christmas, but Christmas in Germany is magical so I’m ok with it.
We were in the process of moving this time last year. I was so overwhelmed I didn’t decorate for Christmas for the first time in, well, forever. This year is a great opportunity to reorganize everything but that takes time. So I am already unpacking all the boxes and trying to decide what I want to put out and what I need to get rid of. Sunday I worked all day decorating the tree, an artificial one with lots of lights. I miss real trees but the convenience of being able to decorate early is worth it. Once I get everything else up I can sit back and enjoy the holidays. Now I’m just hoping (since we’re in the U.S. and not beautiful Germany) our Thanksgiving dinner guests won’t freak out when they find themselves surrounded by Santas instead of Pilgrims!
Started yesterday and hoping to be done by the time we leave for DFW next Tuesday!!! How is the house???
I’m ready to start now but I will wait until the day after Thanksgiving. Then, I spend 2 or 3 days “decking the halls”. Can’t wait to see your house decorated. It will look lovely.
