Open Living
January 6, 2012
Now that you have seen the kitchen and the nook I thought I’d share a before and after view of the two from the living room. The living room was dark and had two walls separating it from the two areas. We took down those two walls which created one, big living space. I will share more photos in my next post of the living room redo.

Have a great weekend!

So pretty. What a vision. What tile did you use in your pretty backsplash?

Very cute! I see you got your turquoise chandelier!
Your house is beautiful! I love everything that you’ve done…what a transformation. I saw that you went to UCF…I did too! We lived in Orlando from ’94-2000, now we are in North Florida. So fun to find a fellow Knight on blogland. All the best.
I love the transformation. It came out great. You are very talented. Thanks for visiting our blog.
Hi Heather…you are going to love the open floorplan! We did something very similar about 12 years ago. We bought a 1950′s ranch {that I prefer to call a cottage} and removed doors, took out walls and arched doorways. We dropped the floor in the family room that is central to the home so that we could have 9′ ceilings. The open floorplan is great for entertaining but also for daily living. I truly LOVE the choices that you have made for your new home. I love the little ‘x’ on the end of the island, the library light, the marble tile all the way to the ceiling…all the details are perfection! Happy New Year!
This is really so, so beautiful. I love your palate and the simple, classic look of the space. I’m sure I could move right in.
Can I ask, is that your only dining space or do you also have a formal one? We have a similar open concept planned (though not started yet) and I just wondered if you missed having the formal dining space at all.
