Kitchen Inspiration
January 1, 2013
We put the Christmas decorations away today and things look bare. I am already on to another distraction, the kitchen renovation. It may be awhile before we are able to do anything but, I am enjoying scanning Pinterest for great ideas. When we renovated the lake house I knew I wanted to go with clean lines, white cabinets, and marble…
In our current home I am not sure what I want to do. The house is traditional so I sometimes feel like we need to go a warmer direction…
Or we could go with gray cabinets…
Or we could just go with old reliable white…
What do you like?

Hi, Heather ~ Happy 2013! A new year! A new kitchen! Love it
Thanks for all the inspirations. We plant to move forward with our small kitchen project in the basement. Thinking of a warm beige or putty concrete for the counter tops…..not sure about the cabinetry color. Our basement has no windows, so I want it to be warm and inviting. Will check out your boards on Pinterest.
Cheers to the New Year ~ Loi
Ooops, sorry for the typo….should be plan not plant
I always love the white and grey kitchens. I think the one in the last photo has a very warm feeling on account of the dark honey-colored wood floor. That is gorgeous. Have fun and have a wonderful new year! Phyllis
Hi there! I think it depends on the wood in the rest of your house. If there’s not any other bright white paint, go cream on the outer cabinets with a beautiful stained island, for example. I did a kitchen last spring in Martha Stewart’s Mourning Dove (paint). It’s a gorgeous grey/green. Hope that helps! Good luck! Happy New Year!
I love all the kitchens you showed, but my heart always skips a beat when I see a white kitchen! So simple & timeless. Hope you’re having a blessed new year
I was looking at another blog today and they used this light creamy yellow in their kitchen called Sundance by Benjamin Moore. It kept the room warm and light-filled without going too stark with the white.
