Southern Accents Showhouse Flashback
Do you remember this Southern Accents Showhouse in Fort Worth, Texas?
I toured this home back in 2009. I thought it was beautifully done. I can’t believe it is now 2013 and the house is still for sale. Here are some images to help jog your memory…

Home Goals
Our home is about twenty-five years old. It was built in the 1980′s and needs a lot of updating. We have replaced white carpet with wood flooring, painted over the orange sponge wall treatments, removed some wallpaper and replaced some light fixtures as well as resurfaced the pool. Needless to say I think we have accomplished a lot but, there is still more we would like to do to make it feel like it is really our home.
1. Remodel the kitchen. We are not sure which direction we are going yet but, it is fun doing the research!
2. Remodel the Master Bathroom. I really like the look of wood flooring in bathroom but, I am not sure how practical it is in the long run.
3. Remodel Pool Bath and guest bath downstairs. I think the pool bath is a great place to do something fun and different.
I like the idea of the guest bath being more serene.
4. Paint the brick on the exterior of the house.
5. Work on the library.
6. New back porch tile and pool decking.
7. Acquire art. They don’t have to be originals or expensive.
8. Landscape improvements.
9. Tackle the Master Bedroom and create a relaxing retreat.
10. Keep it clean and organized! (Ha,Ha)

Kitchen Inspiration
We put the Christmas decorations away today and things look bare. I am already on to another distraction, the kitchen renovation. It may be awhile before we are able to do anything but, I am enjoying scanning Pinterest for great ideas. When we renovated the lake house I knew I wanted to go with clean lines, white cabinets, and marble…
In our current home I am not sure what I want to do. The house is traditional so I sometimes feel like we need to go a warmer direction…
Or we could go with gray cabinets…
Or we could just go with old reliable white…

Living Room Before and After
It is so difficult for me to share these images with you.
After pining just about every beautiful home on Pinterest TWICE, you start to have massively high standards for your own home. The living room is by no means finished. We need window coverings and I would like to do something different with the cabinet doors since they are dated. My photography skills are lacking but, I am going to get over myself and share some shots with you.

We painted the orange walls, ripped out the white carpet and had wood flooring installed. We also replaced the fan with a chandelier. The furniture is what we had to work with and is enough room for family or friends to sit and visit.
The fireplace had pink marble tile surround and a brass cover as you see here…
Since we are taking a break from spending money on the house, my husband sanded and painted the marble to get rid of the pink and then he painted the brass cover with Annie Sloan paint. I think it made a huge difference in the room.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you are having a great week!
How Early is too Early?
I know I am supposed to be excited about Thanksgiving and I am but, I am ready to get the Christmas decorations out and start decorating. I think I am more excited than usual because we are in a new home that I have never decorated for Christmas so there are all kinds of fun possibilities. I have really been enjoying these images on Pinterest for inspiration…
When do you put up your Christmas decorations?
Have a great week!
