Santa Barbara Home

September 3, 2012

I am getting closer to sharing some before/after photos of our living room but, until then I had to share this home in Santa Barbara with you. I’ve decided my husband and I need to plan a trip to California. I want to go to Santa Barbara, Carmel, Big Sur, and Napa Valley. I’ve been to Los Angeles and San Francisco but, I have never experienced these charming locations. I am not sure when we are going but, I am already excited. Until then I will keep drooling over the homes on the market out there.

I hope you all have a great week!

Preston Hollow Home

July 12, 2012

About two years ago I emailed a local blogger, Kristin Mullen for some career advice. I had never met her but, thought I’d give it a shot. She emailed me back with the most generous advice that I really appreciated. I have admired her home for the last two years and I am in awe of her ability to have such a beautiful home while taking care of her family and running her business Covetable Designs.

She doesn’t blog often since she is so busy but, a few months ago she shared the news that they were putting their beautiful home on the market. So, of course, I had to share some images with you…

Segreto Book Winner!

June 4, 2012

I won! I have pined over Segreto Secrets To Finishing Beautiful Interiors for a while now and it was on my birthday wish list. Happy birthday to me! I entered the giveaway over at Art of Karena and actually won! Thank you Karena for hosting the giveaway on your blog and thank you to the lovely Leslie Sinclair the author of this fabulous book and owner of Segreto Finishes! If you aren’t familiar with their work should check it out as soon as possible. You can see Leslie’s blog here and you can buy the book here and here. It is a must have inspirational design book.

Their work is timeless and stunning! I can’t wait to grab a cup of coffee and read the book from front to back. I would love to see the work of Segreto Finishes in person. I bet it is even more amazing in person.

Have a great week!

Low Country Originals and Wallpaper Removal

May 31, 2012

At Home Arkansas featured a home that showcases some gorgeous fixtures by Low Country Originals. I saw these images on Pinterest and fell in love. I can see the basket chandelier in my living room and the basket sconces in my sunroom. Oh, the possibilities…

This past weekend we, (mostly my husband) removed grasscloth wallpaper in the family room that was in too bad of shape to save. It was a disaster! Unfortunately, the experience has frightened me away from wallpaper indefinitely. This week we had the painters come in and texture the walls and paint. In retrospect we should have hired the painters to remove the wallpaper but, you know how it is when you think you can do-it-yourself and save money. It would have been worth the expense to have avoided it all together. The good news is that we now have wood floors which are not stained yet in this picture but, as soon as the family room is pulled together I will share some before and after photos.

Have a great weekend!
