Getting Closer
We are now only two weeks away from being able to move into our renovated lake house. I am so ready. There is still a lot to be done but, I am not going to worry.
With the weather getting a little cooler we have spent more time in the backyard watching the fish jump, turtles float and snakes skim across the water. Yes, I said snakes. I am learning that the more exposed you are to snakes, spiders, bugs, and critters, the more normal and less scary they seem. Anyway, the yard doesn’t have a sprinkler system, which is now added to the list of things that need to be done. So, the grass is mostly brown and we pulled out a lot of the landscaping because it was time. Now we are super excited to have several projects to work on in the yard when the weather permits. I think I might even start a cutting garden and maybe even attempt to grow some herbs. Here are some inspiring images of some great outdoor spaces…
I love these hydrangeas.
Have a great week!

Laundry Room Wallpaper
I was originally going to have one wall in the laundry room covered in this…
But now I am falling in love with these…
Can you tell I am in a dark mood? I know none of these Schumacher wallpapers really screams laundry room but, I think that is why I like them for that space. Which one is your favorite?
Playhouse Promise
When we broke the news to our daughter that we were moving to another town away from her friends and favorite teachers, we decided we could entice her with the promise of a playhouse in the new backyard. The three of us have talked about it all summer. We finally found a shed. We just had it delivered in the backyard. We are still thinking about what we can do to spruce it up and create a nice exterior. The inside can be as colorful and whimsical as our daughter desires but, the exterior needs to work with the rest of the property. Here are some of the “sheds” I have fallen in love with lately…
I know this is a chicken coop but, wouldn’t it be an adorable playhouse?
I love shake shingles!
Vikki’s gorgeous garden house from My House, My Garden blog…
This shed from High Street Market blog is pretty similar to the shed we purchased. I love how painting it and having the simple landscaping creates an aesthetically pleasing effect…
My mom insists we add flower boxes under the two windows. I think that is a fine idea. I will post before and after pictures when we tackle this project.
Daughter’s Bedroom Inspiration
I have collected inspirational photos for my daughter’s bedroom for the last couple of years and they are some of my favorites. Unfortunately, if all the colors in the rainbow are not in the room then it will not pass my daughter’s test.
Have a great week!
